About Parade Float Builders
Our Beginnings
There was a little girls, nonprofit, dance group called "The Blue Unicorns". My daughters were one and 3 years old so they were invited to dance with the group which danced in hospitals, retirement homes, local events, the El Paso County Coliseum and at the Special Events center.
Our Director Back Then...
Our director for the Blue Unicorns, in memorium, Lucy Rodriguez, used to promote the group all over town to fundraise for the group to include entering the annual Thanksgiving Parade. Before she passed she mentioned that she wanted the group to go to Sandra and Ray. The Crystal Blue Unicorns came into existence, the girls grew up and we have been building parade floats since 1999.
